Phoenix Park 2009

Postby MX5Steve » Sun, 03 May 2009 3:57 +0000

So who would be interested in doing a lap or more ? of the phoenix park circuit on the 8/9 of august. Maybe put a few cars on display.

I contacted a guy called Eamon Ledwidge whose involved with orgainising the event.

Could be a good way of doing something ourselves to mark the 20th......

Here's the mail I got below:

Hi Stephen

Yes, I am involved with the 2009 event - 8/9 August.

Can you please advise how many cars will be in the group and I will see what can be done. We have a number of similar approaches in hand. As advised previously, we would ask your group to undertake a task over the weekend eg programme sales or similar.

The paddock/race assembly area will be located at Farmleigh House.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Eamonn

PS

Still have my wifes 2000 UK spec MX5 over there in the garage - its for sale if you know of anyone looking.

I spoke with you last year Re: the phoenix park races and the involvement of mx5ireland in the event. Will you be involved with the organising of this years event?

Class ! I would be interested in going, but don't really care about doing a lap (especially if I have to sell programmes or swab out toilets heh heh)

Have been to this event in the past and it's good craic.

I received this mail today.

"Stephen

Can you please let me have a ballpark figures on numbers within the next 10 days.

We have approaches for a couple of motortrade entities - MG for new model launch, MINI - new 50 year John Cooper model and the Kit Car Club of Ireland who have helped us over the years. I need to focus on numbers and also the commercial befefits to the event, while not excluding enthusiasts like yourselves.

This is the best email address for replies - the other one is for my own motorsport activities.

Regards

Eamonn"

I think we should get a minimum of five people who can go no matter what, don't want to be pulling out at the last min

If we haven't got these people in 10 days then I'll abandon it.
Also what can we do?
Laps of Honour advertising the forum maybe a stand showing the cars.....
Probably have to do something with regard to sellin programs, we could do this at the stand....... Anyone interested or think its a load of boloni.....

Steve,

I've just re-joined the forum and came across your post. Is the Phoenix Park outing a runner? If so, I'd certainly be interested.

Tom
