Cars & Coffee Galway

Postby RLtd » Thu, 05 Jul 2012 10:06 +0000

Anyone interested in a C&C type meet in Galway, say Sat 14th or Sun 15th, after the mayhem from the Ocean Race has died down?
I'm looking for a suitable place to meet, ie reasonable size carpark with food & coffee available close by. Any suggestions?

Someone suggested the carpark beside the Galway Atlantaquaria in Salthill. There is a large free carpark, Arabica coffee beside it and stuff to see/do nearby, for any passengers who ain't into cars as much as us!

So what ya reckon?

I think Merlot Man is right, Sunday would suit most people.
Lets say Sunday at 11am, in the carpark beside Galway Atlantaquaria.
If you know of any like minded car enthusiasts, give them a shout, its not a one marque meet.

If ye don't mind me turning up either on my bicycle or with caravan in tow I'll drop in. I'll be just around the corner in Threadneedle Road so it's handy for me. I'm back up to bring the family home so I will be heading back to Cork in the afternoon.

Bikes are welcome too, less parking space needed! See you there.

Paul and Brian, great to meet you. Sorry I didn't have a 7 or 5 with me, next time, honest.

The Ferrari was unexpected, but interesting, as was the classic Mini. Mike's crazy Warrior, running on veggie oil sounded menacing I thought, looked the part too. Spotted a few other members from here as I was heading home, along with a couple of other tasty motors, red NSX, convertible Bentley, Euro R and assorted Harleys.
For the rest of you, we are hoping to make this a monthly meeting. Next time we'll organise things a bit better. We've been reconsidering the name and some suggestions were: Cars & Cans or Flagons and Wagons :D
Perhaps meet for an hour or two then head off on a drive for those who are interested.
Will we say Sun 19th for the next meet?

Nice to have met some of the west of Ireland gang. Great to see a variety of cars also. Just too bad I hadn't me five up for the weekend, maybe another time. Good luck with the regular meets, must try something similar here in Cork in the Autumn. (Anyone local listening?? I'll organise if people are interested.)
