Well. it's an 11am meet, so if you hit the Naas exit for 10:15, I'll head for the motorway around the same time and will wait on the hard shoulder just after exit 12, my number is 087 2656053, if for some reason you don't pick me up by exit 13 hold back !

Nice turnout, 7 cars, weather held up so it was top down all the way. Basically the run was around the Sliabh Bloom mountains in Laois and Offaly and a quick trip through them as well via "the cut". About 1,500 above sea level (high for Midlands standards!!). Nice spin with a bite of lunch in the County Arms in Birr. Back to Portlaoise via Roscrea. I believe John & Mairead hadn't enough of the Sliabh Blooms and headed there on their way back to explore Glenbarrow Waterfall.
I don't have any photos; I think Paul's son was the only one with a camera so hopefully he posts up some photos
Great day out, thanks to everyone who turned up

Thanks Paschal for organising today, arrived home just after 8.30 having delivered Kevin's car to it's new owner in Bray. I reckon about 440 miles all told for the day. The guy buying Kevin's car took some shots as well which he had ready on a disc, so I will post them up tomorrow night when I can get the brain working again. See you all soon again. Paulc

Well done Paschal..yeah, myself and Mairead were heading cross country when we saw a sign for glenbarrow waterfall..now I've travelled that same road for 20 years and NEVER knew that the waterfall was there..only for it being mentioned at that stop at the top of the cut I probably would have passed the sign again. That's weird. We must include it on a future midlands run, there is , however, a 20 minute walk from the carpark through woodland before you reach the waterfall. The slieve blooms also have a location known as "Cathole"....don't ask me how it became known as that..the ISPCA might want to know too.
