Louth Meet

Postby Pete JB » Tue, 16 Jun 2009 1:17 +0000

Hi All,

I've been chatting to several people in the Louth area, and basically if we want to do a run in the Carlingford area I should be able to get access to the sailing club and all of it's faciities. This inclused a great camping area on the shores of the lough, showers, toilets etc. AND A BAR!!!!!

I'm working weekends at the moment but will be free after the 24th July, I know Cloggy would be keen, is anybody else interested or have any opinions ?

Cheers,

Pete

Hmmmm, sounds good. Calendar a bit tight in August though, Lough Key camping trip is scheduled??
Have a look at early/mid August and see if you get any response

Hi Pete,

I'm on holidays in Portugal from 8-Aug - 15-Aug and want to go on Ollie's camping trip at the end of Aug.
So I'd say late July or the August Bank holiday weekend might be the best (Aug 3rd). I'd say 1 night stay, Saturday eve or Sunday eve might be good.

It's nothing that we need to rush on, my wife to be is on the comittee of the sailing club & has basically offered their facilities any time we want, I also know of 3 MX5's in Carlingford who would probably join in .

In that case I'd say hold off until September, camping may or may not be an option but the one-day gig would certainly be!

I'll have fair until September then, I'll have a word with the club & see what events they have planned at that time of year & see when it would suit for us. There's loads of accomodation available in Carlingford too, in fact the mother in law (to be) owns this so I'm sure I could get anybody who's interested a good rate.

Supposed to be good weather in September if you can believe that guff. I'd be up for this if I'm about. I'm familiar enough with the area. Have to see a few MXs rolling up what some are calling 'magic hill'

Unfortunately I'm now only 3 weeks from my wedding & there is just no way I can get anything organised with the club. There are loads of places to stay in Carlingford or camping for the hardier folks, so if you can wait until I get back from Honeymoon I can get something organised.

Hi Pete,

Camping that late in the year ?...no thanks. You go ahead and don't be concerning yourself with us guys..you've plenty on your plate at the moment.

When you're over the coming festivities, maybe look at a one-day run option.

Best of luck with the wedding!!

LOL,

I didn't think that anybody would be on for camping, but I'm sure we'll get something organised, I don't know how much more work I've got to do for the wedding, I haven't been told yet!
