Shannon Pot Run Saturday 19th September

Postby Richie L » Mon, 07 Sep 2009 9:21 +0000

A spin from Belturbet through the Cuilcagh Mountains up to the source of the Shannon.Takes about 1 hour 10 mins and fab roads. From there to a super eating spot I know(50 mins top hotel not expensive) and then back to Tullydermot Falls stopping off at the best Guinness watering hole I've found for just 1 legal pint. How about Saturday19/ Sunday/ 20th this month. We can start at my pad at 12ish and still do the day no problem getting back to m50 at 8ish.Whole thing will set you back 60 lids including a full tank on a 5. :

Well a bit of interest so heres a plan
Saturday 19th September a sunny day :!: Meet Belturbet @11:00.Drive to the Shannon Pot acrorss some cool mountain roads.Fast bits and twisty bits with a great hairpin in the mix.Theres a scary bit too with a drop-off  Leave the Pot at 12:30 ish and head for the Castle Dargan Hotel (not far from where we were in Sligo)>Nice fodder there for about €12.99 and secure parking.Back on the road at 3:00pm ish to Tullydermot Falls for a break and evantually back to Butlersbridge for a creamy one.All going well well be in the pub at 6pm and assuming "just the one" you can be back on the M50 at 8:30 ish.The roads are generally good and smooth...http://routes.tomtom.com/route/Belturbe ... m=8&ui=1od and smooth so what about it :?
Sunday might suit better for some?
