Run out - Meath Louth

Postby 650Ginge » Fri, 11 Sep 2009 11:29 +0000

Any Meath or Louth members interested in a little run out, would be a shame to waste the good weather.....

Sorry I have been mostly lurking here and getting my 5 ready for its NCT? It passed, not sure how but for discussion off air.

Was out this evening round Garristown, Naul or Ashbourne, some nice roads some broken up to bits. Roof down until a while after dark when I thought my hands would fall off with the cold.

Did 410kms shake down on Saturday, nothing fell off, that was good.

Anyone local fancy a roof down spin???

Sunday week is good. Will this usually nice spell of weather keep until then.

I am thinking of something maybe something during the week, day night drive start as near 7 as possible home for 9. Weather should hold to mid week at least, haven't seen any forecasts beyond that.

I have a wedding today (not mine) and may not be home too early tomorrow and I am going to miss all this good weather......booooooo.

I just remember I have something on that sunday. I am also finished work at 7 every day, but home around 7.30. Wife is for a week out of the country, between sun 20 and the following saturday, so night drive sounds good to me.

Wednesday evening then, hows about that?

I am not leading it though, if anymore knows a few decent roads around these parts step forwards.....

I am happy with anywhere between here and the border or just over it.....but nothing south of say a line between Ashbourne/Swords......

So what time suits you all I can be home (Near duleek) for 6-6.15 usually? Are there any usual haunts for meeting, Halfords Drogheda..maybe...getting dark so bloody early already.

I'm all booked up this week & weekend. The forecast is for some more nice days coming up (right up to sep 25th).

ok here we go... Just been talking to Sean in Ardee.

Tuesday 22nd Sep, gathering/Leaving Church in Ardee 7pm
- Tallanstown, Louth Village, Knockbridge, Dundalk, Ravensdale Wood, 'magic' road (where your car runs uphill), Over the Mourne Mountains into Omeath/Carlingford, Coffee break, either fast or slow way back.

Would really love to be going but have to work. Went on the shannon-pot run on Saturday and had a brilliant time. Really nice people and hope to meet more of you soon. If you're planning any more runs around the Louth/Meath area in the future we'd be very interested. Itching to get out again after Saturday! Have fun tomorow lads :D
