Hola goseantonio,

Perhaps you could consider the following route as outlined on this post http://www.mx5ireland.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4726 when you are going out of Galway. You could then cross over the River Shannon on the Killimer to Tarbert ferry, which would be interesting, and then on to Killarney.

Looking forward to seeing you somewhere in August.

Saludos,

KS.

Thank you barney,

Giants Causeway is a must, and I've readed that the road on the coast is also a must for landscape and MX5 lovers.

I've to said that this is only a draft, and that it only shows places to sleep, the route is the one google suggested as the fastest one, but not the funniest... 8)

Hi Jose

Definitely try and get to the North coast (Bushmills, Portballintrae) you won't regret it. Some of the best beaches in Ireland, especially for surfers.

Giant's Causeway is also up that way

Would agree with all of the above....
Would recomend the Ferrycarrig hotel in Wexford (just outside of Wexford but great views)
Also The Lake Hotel in Killarney (superior room again great views)

Both grand and safe parking and great food and staff......

Question about the ferry:

A friend suggested me to put towing hooks in front and rear bumpers before boarding our cars in the ferry. He said if we do that, we would provide the ferry operators with easy points for fasten the car to the ferry's floor, so we can avoid potential damages in the car.

What do you think about it?

I guess my car has only one hook, so I should buy another one, but I think this is unexpensive.

No need unless the seas are EXTREMELY rough, in which case they usually cancel the sailings 8)

I think that they usually tie down the wheels if they decide that the sailing may be rough, but we came back from Barcelona last year in some VERY rough seas..just ask any of those who spent the night getting sick ( isn't that right Steve, Alan, PJ etc??).....and nobody's car suffered any damage at all. :P

Good to know that this is not need to worry about the tie down of the car, but it's not relaxing to read about your shaked trip... :?

Hi goseatonio,

As area coordinator for the mx-5 Northern Ireland area may I say you will be made very welcome on this island, both by our friends in the south and us up north. I look forward to meeting up with you at some time during your trip, our web site mx5ni.com is down at the moment but hopefully will be up and running again soon. meanwhile I will follow your plans on this site.
I also hope to meet up with you all from MX5 Ireland some time this year or how about you doing a run in this direction.

Yeah, t'was very rough but fun. You just need to have a pair of the sea sickness armband thingys, they worked like a charm.
