Find New Shocks

Hey all,

So finally got round to getting my MX5 fixed and running. But today I went to get the NCT done and was told it failed cause there was a difference between the front two suspensions... It makes sense seeing that that I replaced the shock on the right after the crash with a 00 model... Anyway so now I need to replace both sides... Where can I find cheap front shock absorbers for my MK1 ?

Thanks :D

I went to my local car parts guy when this happened to me two years ago, just get them to quote for two standard shocks for a mk1 mx5, they'll fit the Eunos! They don't need to be top of the range or anything like that, just a pair of generic shocks, no harm asking the shop to guarantee an nct pass with them either.
Good to see you back on the road (nearly) Derrick

Great. Thanks. I'll try head into a shop tomorrow but barney in the club has a a pair of cusco coilovers for sale I might buy off him... I know it's a little bit more but for the price he's offering it might just put the smile on my face I need of late :)

But I have to ask my dad. I'm a broke student at the moment and relying on him.

Oh and I look forward to being back on the road with you guys soon. It's been way too long!

Derrick, good to see you back on the road.

Try these,

Probably work out the same price as generic motor factor shocks

Hey All,

So Thanks for the help, I'm taking the car into the garage tomorrow with the new shocks I got the KNG 8way adjustable one on mx5parts.co.uk I hope they work... hopefully I should pass the NCT next time... Just have to remove the reflectors on the back (the don't like red ones) and get a rubber paddle for the clutch... :)

I believe you just unscrew them for the test... drive round the corner and place them back on? I was told they should be orange/yellow or not there at all :)
