I'm in the same boat at the moment. The price depends a lot on what type pf roof you want to fit and if your prepared or know someone that can do it for you. There are a couple of lads on here who have fitted them for other people - approx 6 hour job.

I am looking for a navy mohair hood.
www.mx5parts.co.uk currently have genuine Mazda hoods on special offer. Appox €750.00 delivered - then I have to fit it.
Art on webcars is charging approx. €1300.00 fitted.
Another site worth looking at is www.mazda-mx5-shop.com - there hood is approx. €520 delivered (not a mazda hood though)

A vinyl hood (normal) would be cheaper than all of the above.
I believe its a good idea to replace the tension cables at the same time. Genuine Mazda hoods are suppossed to be good for up to 10 years if looked after - which means mine is at the end of its life.

Hope that helps.

Robin

Hi,

There's a guy in Neath, Wales - Jack Smith Trimmers I think he's called. See here http://www.mx5ocforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=41553 - seems to be good service. I think he will ship them too.

If your in Cork I can fit it for you, I've done a good load of em here for the Cork lads in the club already.
There are LOADS of hoods available out there but be sure to get a good quality one, the cheaper the hood then the more issues you'll have with it in the long term.

There's also SFT: http://www.jagspares.co.uk/mx5/company.asp
I got my Mohiar hood from them and it was a perfect fit.

As for fitting a hood in 6 hours, thats with taking short cuts and not using Evo glue/rivets etc for example.

If you need rubber seals etc then I'd go get them at less than half the price second handf from www.sniffydog.co.uk

Hi Sean,

I have the roof but I'm waiting to order the seals.

Do I need Front, Middle and Rear seals for each side?

Lucy.
