Problem with Rear Demister

Postby Oregato » Sat, 17 Dec 2011 1:22 +0000

Hi guys,

I've a 2001 MX5 I've just bought (I'm new so go easy)

Anyway, there is a button on the dash for the rear demister, there is a hard top on the car at the moment, but even with this pressed, nothing happens, i.e. the back window is still fogged up. I think there is a little light on the button, but this doesn't illuminate at all.

Anyone any ideas please??

Look forward to chatting with you all.

Problem with Rear Demister

If your hardtop has glass screen with dimist then there should be a wire coming from rear window which needs to be plugged in to a wire located behind passenger seat. If you have this done then I'd be checking fuses and the relay in the boot for Demist function

Thanks again Ash, finally got some time off work to see the car during the day and got this sorted, turns out it was just the plug, got confused as there were two connectors then realised there was one for the soft and hard top! Bonus!!! :D
