Is it missing or just renamed? I think it was renamed from TEN to KLN on the mk2. It should still work the same BUT the codes are 4 digits long, not 2.

This is a good thread for the details

Hi Steve,I have checked the types of immob on the net and 2000 to 2002 cars have a different type ie mitsubishi /lucas type box under the dash ,commonly known as M.I.S. by Mazda themselves ???.I have an ecu etc from 2002 here myself and it,s the matching type as against early 2000 is Timec type box under dash and the key sensor/aerials are different also .early 2000 has 2 wires in black sleeve ,where as late 2000/2002 has four wires in white sleeve. The sensor/aerial is NOT programmed to ecu so its easy to try another one ( made no difference at all) but the other parts are specefic to the car /key etc and apparently they only accept coding once !!!so cant swop them !!!Could it be something else like loose connection on wiring

Apparently the only thing to resolve this is a new ecu/pcm unit, new immobiliser unit under dash and possibly new aerial coil/sensor for key and of course new keys.Waiting on main dealer to give me costs ...... can you imagine !!! and that,s without the labour to install/coding etc.
