Hello all ,
I'm looking to change me door glass soon with clean ones ,mine are scratched,I think from old dried up weather strips ,have new ones fitted.
Any points to be looking out for and can someone recommend a good window lubricant [steady!] for the runners .The car has electric windows.
Thanks in advance
Brian

I think that there's some sort of a white grease on the runners...don't know what it's called, but all you need do is periodically take the door cards off and check the state of the lubrication on the runners...Someone here is bound to put a name to it!

Are you talking about white lithium grease? I've used it in the past and found it good but I was wondering if there is a special grease for window runners .
Thanks for the reply

The product must not be petroleum based anyway otherwise it will react against the plastic window wheels that run in the tracks. I thiink vaseline is the best for it and always handy to have in the car.....in case you get lucky !!!

I've used copper grease in the past, seemed to work ok.

This thread is going off the window rails - you'll all end up with using KY Gelly
Lithium Grease is the only one to use on the two window runners as it won't bung up later and turn into cement which ends up snapping the cables. Do not use any type of silicone spray as it dries up and your cables WILL break.
