Properly fitting standard radio in a Eunos

This is what I have in my '91 Eunos atm.

Looks a bit chronic! So from what I read, its a issue with the Japanese cars that their stereos don't conform to the DIN sizes? I was told by a UK based online shop that a larger 1.5 DIN cubby box would sort this problem and fully fill out the hole in the dash surround.

Is that true, or do I need something else?

Larger DIN cubby box will do the job but not 1.5 think its about 1.25 maybe. We might have one and I say might as they are scarce enough .Th JDM cars usually have metal bar ,screwed in from behind to fill the void.086 8226506

Ok i see. This DIN business with the euro and jap spec cars would do your head in. Hard to know what is needed until you have the bits in your hand. I've read a good bit about it but I don't think I came across 1.25!
Will keep your number and come back to you on it next week, thanks.

Whipped out the centre piece to see whats at the back....

Would this cage work with a bigger DIN cubby? Looks like i'd need to drill new radio mounting holes higher up on the bracket. Then the radio would sit at the top of the opening and the larger cubby would fill out the rest....

Got a 1.5 din cubby online. Had to drill new holes in the cage to align the radio in the right position above it, but job done and a nice neat fit now!
