Mk1 mx5 1.6 air con condenser

Hi all,

My air condenser is badly screwed and way beyond repair.

Mazda says they've discontinued the part.

Anyone else wanting to save their aircon manage to find a solution?

We have new one but its for left hand drive mx5 so it needs pipes modified but easily done,.I may also have used ones . 086 8226506

Excuse my ignorance, the condenser ? Is that under the hood or behind the dash?? I removed and since disposed of the under hood parts, but the behind dash stuff is still there..

As far as I remember, the condenser is the cylindrical shaped object attached to the Aircon radiator at the front of the engine bay (if you look down at front of radiator you should see a small eyeglass type thing on the top of it). The bit under the dash is the evaporator.

Rob bought a used one off you, arrived during the week cheers. By air con condenser I mean the radiator. Mine has totally disintegrated and the cores just fallen out completely. Going to give this a go sealing them soon. Is it possible to convert these to the new air con gas?

Someone on a merc forum said they can use some sort of oil to allow the new gas in the aircon system but no idea.
