My Mk2.5 failed the NCT because the headlights were misaligned. Is it possible that the headlights were only misaligned because they tested the car with no driver? Should I have told them about the knob on the dash that changes the alignment to account for the weight distribution in the car? There are four settings: driver only; driver and passenger; driver, passenger and weight in boot; driver and weight in boot but no passenger.

interesting, I didn't know that was a thing in the mk2.5, absolutely tell them if that is the case.

There is an adjuster. But i don't think it effects alignment
