1.6 engine ECU.

Hi.

I have a 2000 reg. car with a 1.6cc engine and the ECU has gone faulty and stops the car when the engine has heated up.

It's a B6mla EGI B6mn 18 991A 279700.0111 12v DENSO but for all I know the ECU could have been changed on the car before I bought it.

Tried loads of places but all I could find was one in GB that was new and for track racing but there was no guarantee that it would pass emissions in the NCT. So it would have been a major gamble buying it for big money.

Loads of ECUs secondhand for 1.8 engines but nada for 1.6s. :(

I have no idea about availability of a ecu but are you sure that its faulty, it might be something more like a faulty crank sensor failing when warm.

Thank you Pops.

I'll check with the mechanic about the crank sensor sensor but I'm fairly sure he's already checked that.

Thanks for the link to Grafton Diagnostics in Toomevara. I'll ring them on Monday.

Thanks again. Appreciated.

Kevin.

crank sensor would be my first thought too if it cuts out/won't start when hot...

Failing the above, try Robert Maguire in Swords for a replacement : 0868226506 , tell him we sent ya ;-)
