Ollie's new ice!

Postby Stig » Fri, 08 Aug 2008 1:24 +0000

I installed new ice last weekend.
I was relieved to discover someone was already in there and installed a fm expander for the jap import alpine cd/radio combo shitbox that was in the car.

I picked up this nice and new kenwood in Halfrauds last weekend for €89 (€150 off, yeah right) and installed it.........it was'nt just plug and play, i had to chop alot of wires and re-wire to fit the new kenwood plug but after an hour or so, it was in. All speakers work a treat incl the headrest speakers.

So, now - I can Blast out the 80's Tunes just like John Cheatley on the runs! :D

i left in the old headunit to fill the spce whilst i get my hand on a cubby box - anyone bringing one to the midlands run for me? :P

Halfords opened today in waterford , just round the corner from where I work hehehe  I'll be spending more time there. But I was looking at that kenwood, how bad for 90 quid. Better then a tevion from aldi  ... They even sell dynamat €20 for two speakers worth.

yep, when i saw it ,i thought that too - good for €90!
and if it goes pete tong, ya can take it back - not to a supermarket that sells baked beans and dodgy biscuits  LOL
The Aldi/Lidl stuff just does'nt look that part imho...........the kenwood looks well in the dash too and has a good spec with the mp3 aux etc etc.

Looks good. Need to get yourself an amp now. 8)
I have a crappy aldi head unit!! but with the way its set up with amp going to cross overs going to mids and tweeters it sounds pretty bloody good.
We will have to have a sound off on sunday.
