Finally wired the amp into the Mx5

Postby mx5ash » Thu, 10 Apr 2008 7:47 +0000

Well its taken me nearly all day to run all the fecking wires etc but finished at last. Wasn't happy to just leave the wires messy in the boot so made up a panel to mount everything on. Not the best ever install I'm sure but not bad for my first go

Looks sweet though. Its louder than stock but not like a chav in a corsa, kind of a low rumble.

No where near as loud as yours mate, i can drive with it. And if i don't give it beans then it's barley noticeable.
I think its the join between the back box and the pipe going back to the cat, Separate section so need to take it off and rejoin.

Nice work on the amp Ashley.

What exhaust did you get and where from ?

I had been looking at the one on MXparts that has come up on special recently but it always came up when I was having other issues with the car and i was afraid to spend money until I sorted them out.

All seems sorted now so I'm after a new exhaust.

You gotta have something to throw your money at :)

I picked it up secondhand from uk mate. Not even sure on the manufacture mate to be honest, it has a plate rivited on with maz12345 (numbers not correct) which makes me think its some kinda of mazda part.
Havn't driven with it much yet as having troubles myself.

They be crossovers.
one channel comes out of amp or head unit this splits sound into 2 channels low frequency for the bass (mid mounted in the door) and the highs (tweeter mounted in top of door card)

Sounds great too :)
