Selling my Mk1 (non-runner sadly, but lots of extras incl.)

Postby Reesy » Sat, 13 May 2017 5:35 +0000

EDITED: Added a few more details.

After 15 years of happy MX5 motoring my 1991 Mk1 1.6 has blown a gasket, so I'm selling it. It's given me many miles of pleasure, but it's time to say goodbye. Here's the details:

1991 MX5 NA (Mk1) for sale, 1.6. Jap import
- NCT to Feb 2018
- Tax to Oct 2017
- 194k km

Modifications and features:
- Jackson Racing Cold Air Intake (worth £300, adds c. 14bhp, sounds great)
- Poly bushes, replaced springs & KYB adjustable shocks
- Engine bay brace for added stability
- Interior boot light
- Battery cut-off switch
- Glass rear window (NB has come unstuck in one area, needs regluing)
- Medion stereo + 4 speakers
- Momo steering wheel
- Alarm & immobiliser
- ILM windblocker
- Recently serviced
- New plug leads & battery
- Wheels & tyres in good condition

Head gasket blew, therefore non-runner.

Extras thrown in:
- Veloce workshop manual
- Spare set of original Mazda wheels
- Set of front pads
- Fuel filter
- Aircon belt
- Air filter
- Passenger side electric window refurb kit (cables etc.)
- Set of track rod ends
- Engine valve cover gasket
- Set of cam gaskets / o-rings
Plus assorted small parts

Condition:
- Car red so has faded - however bodywork pretty good, needs a wash & polish
- Interior good for its age
- Roof slashed & repaired
- Passenger electric window doesn't work (note refurb kit included, see above)
- One remote works, the other doesn't
Great car, will be sorely missed.

Price: €500 ono

Will add more photos when I put it on Donedeal.

No more Mk1, now driving an '08 Mk3. Still fun!

Hi all, thanks for your interest. The car's sold. A sad day indeed to lose the car that I liked the most.

Hopefully in 15 years you'll be saying the same about the new one
