Hi lads & lassies,
I'm selling an accident damaged 1993 1.8 S-Special, Laguna Blue in colour. It has damage to the offside i.e. the driver's door
and the area immediately behind the door and in front of the rear wheel. The floor in this area is also pushed in. Because of
this, the car might be handy for somebody looking to upgrade their 1.6 to 1.8 spec or for somebody wanting a donor for a
track car bits etc. Pre-accident the car was looked after and drove well. The long term members on here might remember it
as Gus's car from Galway. It has the usual S-Special bits such as:
• Limited slip differential
• Nardi leather steering wheel
• Bilstein dampers (yellow)
• Chrome speaker surrounds
• Engine bay strut brace
Other items of note are:
• Good tyres
• 1.8 engine – approx 120k miles (no issues)
• Good gearbox
• Induction kit
• Style bars
• Tan hood in good condition
• Recent new front discs
• RSR springs (as far as I know)
The driver's door is present albeit damaged. I am selling the car as a complete lot and I'm not interested in breaking it as
I don't have the space or the time. Price: €550 (I think this is a fair price as the engine, gearbox, LSD etc are all good).
The car is located in Cork and if interested contact Mark @ 085-2719444.

Hi Gus..Looking at them pictures I'd say it made contact with something solid while travelling sideways..probably twisted the chassis too, so a write-off.
Can 93mk1 confirm my analysis?? Horrible to see it happen to a beautiful car..hopefully there was no human injured in the process??

His girlfriend aquaplaned nd hit a tree sideways. Being broke cause i'll b better off in my pocket by doing that rather than fixing it.

The car aquaplaned after coming out of a hairpin bend, skidded across the road and collided with a tree.
She had to be cut out of the car by the emergency services. Without exaggerating, she's lucky to be alive as if the car slid off sooner,
she would have went down a drop which, according to the fire crew, nobody would survive.
The car was looked after as long as she owned it and she was gutted over what happened.

Glad to hear that your GF was ok after the accident..yeah, it happened me in the past also, with my first mk1, power down too soon coming out of a bend, greasy roads, you can guess the rest!Again, no one injured. Anyone got access to a skid-pan? We could have a days practice on how to control a car when it steps out!! :-)

Top idea !
Would be great fun and help us be better/safer drivers . I seem to think that the driving school in mondello does something like .It could be fitted into a run /teck day.

Sounds like a great idea, coming into the Winter as well.

Leinster driving campus is the only one to come up on a google search, however there appears to be a problem with the web site so no further details. Seem to be based in Maynooth
