Hi all,
Im just putting my 1991 silver 1.6 mx5 up here.

I bought it earlier in the year from Robert in Swords (well known in mx5 circles!) with the intention of tidying it up for the summer. I got around to a lot of jobs but i have bought something else so unfortunately it has to go. Below is a list of the good and bad bits and ill try and be as honest as i can.

Its a jap import
100k miles
Only three owners in total, last owner had it for 10 years so its not a donedeal slut!
I have a cartell report to go with it
All 4 tyres have loads of thread

Good bits:
The car is TOTALLY RUST FREE which is becoming increasingly hard to find nowadays, so is an excellent solid base. Sills, arches etc are all perfect
I have just done the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and radiator, driving well
It has mazdaspeed suspension with 4 way adjustable damping, nice ride height, not too low
Black interior is very good, with no tears, scratches or missing trim, all carpets are perfect
Momo steering wheel
Roof is good (no leaks) bar one 2 inch tear in the rear screen (patch repaired)
Drilled brake disks
Taxed until the end of the month

Bad bits
The silver paint work is tired looking when up close
The 15" alloys will need a rubdown and paint. My next job was to give them a diy refurb
Both window regulators need to be freed up, diy job again.
The front drivers wing is a replacement and will need paint ( i was just going to wait for robert to get a silver one in second hand)
Nct expired
Dent on drivers door

Overall its a good honest car and an excellent easy project or just leave it as it is for a track day machine. You could go mad and do a full respray to make it showroom, but i think half the fun of these little cars is to keep it cheap, cheerful rwd fun.

Im asking €800.

No offers please, there are plenty of these out there going for double and triple the money with underlying rust issues. Cant get photos up yet. Ring anytime for info.

Thanks,
Michael
