1991, 1.6, 113000miles, 5 speed manual. Imported by lenny_mc from Newry in 2008, I bought it in 2009

Pros:
Brand new battery installed.
V Special edition in Neo Green, with leather seats, Nardi wheel, tan interior.
Viscous LSD.
Serviced last month, incl new front pads.
NCT valid until next April, taxed to the end of October.
Driver's sill replaced for last NCT, passenger side looks, and feels fine.
New tyres on 14' Daisy OEM wheels.
Averaging 34mpg.
JVC KD-BT11 Stereo with Bluetooth, Front Aux In and Ipod connectivity.
Reconditioned Alternator,
Timing belt at 75,000
Clutch replaced at 85,000
Rear style bar, windbreak, chrome wing mirrors, aero style filler cap.
Comes with a green MK2 hardtop.
Spitfire graphics optional!

I'd consider her to be slightly scruffy but in good mechanical condition. Stops, goes and steers wonderfully. I've hung on for this long as I haven't found anything that drives better than her for the money. The only trouble I've had with her this year has been a burst heater matrix house, easily replaced, and the heater works better than ever.

Cons:
It's a 23 year old car, some wear and tear is to be expected. Paint is scruffy, lacquer peeling on a couple of panels. No rust.
Soft top has a few holes (taped, and hard top now on for winter)
Driver's seat bolster slightly worn.
I've bypassed and removed the A/C compressor, it had seized.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but, there was no V Spec produced in 1991.

The first generation of Mx5 included a Limited Edition of 250 examples in 1991, produced in British Racing Green with the first use of tan interior, to celebrate the highly successful launch of the MX-5 in the UK.
These have a numbered brass plaque on the dash above the glovebox and on the front of the Owners Book and are fitted with alloy wheels from MSW (Mazda Sports Workshop) which are often mistaken for BBS's, but are entirely unique to this model.

I believe different sources quote conflicting information on these editions. I read previously that the V-Spec 1 was made for
the 1991 to '93 models years (the 1991 model year starting in 09/90). The initial models (250 ?) may have had commemorative
plaques etc but the rest of the spec is identical (I believe). Not all "V-Specs" were Racing Green: a black version was listed
for 1991. Sometime in 1993 I believe there was a V-Spec 2 edition with later type chrome speaker panels.
As I say, various publications seem to have different takes on the limited edition specs and dates.
