2001 NB MX5 for sale - Jasper Conran edition
Posted: Mon, 16 Nov 2015 11:56 +0000
Tax: Nov 2015
NCT: March 2016
Mileage: 93,500
Insurance: Autoline got me a classic policy (even though the car is only 14 years old!) with Allianz. Can’t recommend Autoline highly enough – great customer service. With this being a UK car, it is a lot easier to insure, as many companies don’t even quote on Jap cars.
Engine: 1.8
Jasper Spec includes: leather seats & doorcards, LSD, 5 speed, different interior styling / steering wheel, BBS wheels, Mazda factory fitted alarm with central locking.
Some bits I added – engine bay front brace, cabin brace (or can swap for wind blocker if you prefer), upgraded the door speakers to significantly better Alpine ones.
Condition: 14 years of the odd scratch here and there, but generally very presentable. Soft top in very good condition, as it’s bearly been used in the last 10 years (the hard top has been used since 2004). Solid in all the right areas, as I had the sills professionally repaired (hard to find an NB without rusty sills) – repair included cutting out the rust, treating the inner layers, welding in new metal, waxoiling the cavity, primer, stonechip and topcoat back to factory finish. Full details in my project thread: http://www.backroads.ie/forums/showthre ... sser-s-MX5
History: The car was imported into Ireland in 2004, has a partial service history, and comes with the original manuals, including the hard top manual, 2 keys and 2 central locking fobs.
Price: There’s 3 options. I’m not going to muck about with pricing. These are my lowest prices, take them or leave them.
Bronze package: Bone stock. BBS wheels (not in great condition, and LingLong brand tyres), stock exhaust. €2500.
Silver package: Lightweight 5 spoke sport wheels with nearly new Uniroyal tyres all round, almost brand new Cobalt exhaust. €3000
Gold package: Lightweight 5 spoke sport wheels with nearly new Uniroyal tyres all round, almost brand new Cobalt exhaust, hard top. €3500
As I mentioned in my project thread, the Cobalt exhaust is really nice. Well made and only a tiny bit louder than stock. I won’t be selling any of the parts individually until the car is sold, so please don’t ask.
I was hoping to keep this car for many years, but with the new arrival, I have only been driving it once per month - a waste of such a nice car.
Based in Celbridge.
