COIL PACK

I have a coilpack for a 1.6ltr Mk1. I bought it and then discovered the plug lead was the problem and not the coilpack. I'm learning ! ! From MX5-Parts £143 sterling plus P+P. Bargain at 60euros

Dave,

I bought Lynott's new coil pack, but he does have a used one for sale too (its sitting in my hallway at the moment, it tested out prefectly BTW).

Don't know what he is looking for it, am sure he'll be on to you soon.

Nope, no craic, have you decided what you are doing with the turbo? ;-)

Cool, we should be able to sort something. Replaced plugs and leads which fixed most of the problem but noticed a small hole in the pack's insulation which is causing the odd misfire.

As for the turbo, no, no-one bought it, car has been displaying a tendency to overheat on long runs which had me concerned, after much fiddling I reckon it's the radiator itself that's knackered, need to replace that and see if it's sorted and then, who knows.....

Try looking at the coil at night with the car running, you should be able to see where its sparking.

if you are replacing the rad.. maybe look into putting in a civic one instead, its narrower, which will come in handy when you want to run intercooler pipes ;-)

I can see where it's sparking, it's not too bad at the moment but it's only going to get worse.

And stop with the dark side technical advice
