Radiator

Postby K10 » Tue, 12 May 2009 4:54 +0000

Just spotted a radiator leak last night. At the top joint, where the metal is crimped onto the plastic header.

Does anyone have a spare one in the garage (for a 1.6 Mk1 Manual), that they want to sell. They are reasonable enough on MX5parts, but shipping is a killer. Bringing it to Munster Radiators tomorrow but not expecting good news.

All I can supply is a manual rad and you still have to take it to the rad shop to switch it over to auto fitting should cost no more than 25/30 euros to convert, you need to use your rad as donor, personally i would use this as an excuse to but a nice new stainless rad, cheers up the engine bay no end and worth the money for the bling and the longer life, if i can help pm, P

No, mine is a Manual, the one in teh Ebay ad is an auto. Thanks for offer, may take you up - best I've found yet is a new one for €115, so not too painful.

Good plan. That could make sense alright. I presume there's tap-off points somewhere on the engine for an oil feed for the turbo anyway..

Hmmm.

Yup, and a return, might be better to get an oil filter relocation kit and tap off that instead tho.. (or not.. ?)
