15" wheels

Postby Geese » Mon, 22 Feb 2010 12:45 +0000

Does anyone have a cheap set of 15" wheels to suit a 5?

Condition not important.

Don't have another car at the moment.

What are the chances of fitting 4x wheels and tyres into a 5?

Anyone thinking of going up north past newry to visit charged_rs?

Could I please borrow the van? My policy covers me third party on any vehicle as long as I have the owners' consent. (and I didn't take it unlawfully blah blah)

Charged - are they a set from a 10th anniversary by any chance - would be very interested in them, if thats the case - and if geese was interested I'd pass on my JDM's to him.

Thanks

nah mate , these are originally off an arizona

the ones you are after a set of 5 spoked chrome ones like these

sadly i dont have these in chrome , if its any consolation, most of the 10th AE ive seen have crappy wheels as the chrome finish doesnt last.
The best advice i can offer is to get a set of the wheels that arent chromed and get them polished. The only downside of polished wheels , is that they need cleaned every 3 - 4 days or they will dull and go crappy very quickly , especially in harsh winter weather and salty roads.

Thanks Charged for the quick reply. Have been lookin for a set for a couple of years - based on what you say - looks like I'll have to consider going down the road of gettin something completely different - eventually - cheers again

Just double check with your insurance company that the cover will transfer to a commercial vehicle, I've had to add a driver in the past for a week because his company wouldn't allow him to transfer his own to the van.
PM me as to when you want to take the van and we'll arrange something. I'm in Newbridge, so it's only a quick hop from Tallaght.

Sorry to butt in here guys but I made this enquiry myself only last week regarding driving other cars on the MX5 comp policy.

The line is that it's fine provided the car isn't high performance (which could be an Almera!!) or a commercial, it's okay. Do the transfer to be on the safe side.

Geese, take out the passenger seat out of your 5 for this job. Then you should be able to get 3 wheels in the passenger side of the car, and 1 in the boot (albeit with the boot door ajar but you can close it down on a wheel with some rope)
