I still have my old ones, they were working fine on the front when I took them off.

(edit) at least from what I remember they were Bilsteins, I'll check in the morning.

Cheers dude, let me know, Failed the nct on front shock imbalance.
Flew through everything else - and emissions where down on the previous test after fitting jrcai, ss exhaust and link ecu. Sweet.

Unfortunately, as it turns out I can only find 1 of the rear ones, I must have either given them away a long time ago or they got binned.....dunno why there is still one left in the garage though

Agreed, I checked on Mx5Parts and the shorts one are for the back (spring sits half way down the main shock cylinder).

Ah heck, I'll recheck the garage in the morning man !

Are you not supposed to change shocks in pairs or is that just a ploy to get you to buy two shocks instead of one???

If your putting on a new one then yeah should always be in pairs but i reckon another used one should be ok.

you should get away with it Ash.
I had a Golf Gti many moons ago and fitted just the 1 to to front with no issues.

best of luck with your search.
