Seeking Mk 1 for w/end car and need advice. Is it practical to run a w/end car ? Does it need to be garaged ?.When is the best time to buy and where should I look?

NOW is a good time to buy, Mine's not garaged but the paintwork (red) is suffering, garage it if you can.

As a weekend car, no problem there, you'll have something to look forward to all week long

Wouldn't worry in the slightest, they are not delicate.

Ours is a daily runner, not garaged, and no ill effects after 2 years of use.

I guess if it's going to sit unused every week, at least a car cover would be a good idea.
