hi the electric antenna plastic rack part of my antenna has broke
still goes up but needs to be helped down for the first little bit .
looking for a new one or where can i source one
or if anyone knows can this be repaired

You can buy a replacement from mx5parts.co.uk here:

You need to take out the aerial motor/unit, take off the cover, remove the broken bit and reassemble.
Then turn on the stereo, put the new aerial on and push down hard as someone else turns it off, it should catch then and pull itself in.
There is an chrome screw on fitting that also needs to be removed/replaced, use a needle nose pliers in the holes in the top of it to unscrew it (you'll see what I mean when you look at it).

cheers Steve , undid the mast and had a look yesterday and i reckon its just the very end piece gone ,

if its just the end piece you could just do the above (to remove the broken off bit from the gears) with the remainder.. but you will have a slightly shorter aerial afterwards
