Hardtop

Given my recent run in with roof slashing scumbags, I'm on the hunt for a decent used hard top for my Mk. 1.

I understand that these are a rare commodity but here's hoping......

Yes they are very difficult to get here having recently done a hunt all over Ireland. I eventually got one on Done Deal. Prior to that I contacted some MX5 owners who were sellling their car with hard top on autotrader etc.to see if they would sell seperately which they don't often do as it is such a huge selling point. Other than that try ebay where they do come up more frequently in the UK if you're prepared to travel. Keep an eye on MX5 Nutz as well as sometimes they sell seperately. Good luck with the hunt..I'll keep my eyes open for ya.

I saw one recently on Carzone in black for €700 I think.
Do a seach on Carzone for any mx5 and it may pop up.

Just had a look at that. I think he's being a bit optimistic at €750!!

The sickening thing is that my dad had one from a car he traded in a couple of years ago (he's in the car business) and he only sold it 3 weeks before I got my car!! (he thought I'd given up looking for a 5)

mx5 parts have special offer on new genuine hardtops at the moment £974. they also have some chilli orange ones at £650. paint it satin black?
