Frankenstein bolts

Thinking it's time to put the roof back on.
I'm looking for two frankenstein bolts.

i got a pair of bolts from mx5 parts to day . when i went to fit them. there is no recievers. i thougth there would be captive nuts or something. i cant see any way of reaching the bolts to put a nut on any one any ideas need to get this sorted as im picking up a hard top this weekend i hope. john

Hi John, you should be ok without the bolts.
I've a hard top on my car for past 3 years, without bolts.
The four clips hold the top in place with no difficulty.

Is there two large philips head screws there at the moment John?
You'll need to replace the inner one with the new frankenstein bolt

there are philips head bolts in the rear holes but nothing in the front i put rubber grommets in to stop leaking

ah I see, hmm, I had helicoil inserts put into a cylinder head last year by an engineering shop for small $$.
These guys might know someone local to you that could do similar :
