I'm in the market...again!!

Right, I've made a decision.

It looks like I'm not gonna be able to restore the mk2 to an acceptable ( NCT) condition without spending a LOT of time/money on it. The tin-worm problem has now shown its real colours..f*ckin' rampant..sills/suspension..all underside. It had been disguised quite well by a previous owner, and I was aware that there was an issue, but when I got to start at the sills I was horrified. So, what next? Haven't decided whether to break it, sell as a unit or do some repair and keep it for track ( maybe once or twice a year).

In the meantime, I don't want to go through the Summer without one, so I'm officially in the market for an mx5, think I'll revert to the Eunos mk1. The 1991 mk1 that I cut up had absolutely NO rust issues, the 1999 mk2 ( from the UK) really turned out to be a pile of sh*te!!

Keep your eyes open,.

Jeez John that's a shame, seems there is a lot more rug buckets out there now as less imports are coming in. Cant beat the jap imports for rust free condition. See a lot of uk cars on mx5nutz that are just eaten with the tin Worm and need major resto work

Hmm, looks nice , a bit outside my budget, gonna look at a few 92/93/94 eunos's (euni??) over the next few weeks.

John

edit..I see they are on the Tallaght by-pass, might just drop in when I'm passing for a quick look.

That's likely to be a UK import, based on the reg number...so watch the tin worm.

Hey John,

Good luck with the MK1 search John.....and welcome back again hee hee.

Spotted a couple of nice mk1s on d/deal. A BRG and a Black one in Galway, reckon you could get something circa 2.5k. Think they were both imports.

Does that fit into your budget.?
Sorry you have to down the breaking route all over again....

Good luck on your latest search.

Regards John.
