Anyone dealing with electronics suppliers regularly???

Postby sidewaysreilly » Thu, 08 Dec 2011 9:40 +0000

Need an 8.8 mhz crystal of the HC49 variety for my rev limit raising mod. Think they are used in lots of TV'S .

This one..... http://www.donberg.ie/catalogue/passive ... 38mhz.html

Problem is, you need to spend a minimum amount of money 20 or so and they only cost 40 or 50 cents each.

Thanks John but it has an 8 meg as standard so fuel cut at 6900. Need the 8.8 for 7590 rpm cut.

Just checked and they don't have a crystal at that frequency, closest is 9.83

Too high John, just want a 10% increase cause any more will lean the mixture too much.

Shane check out "overclocking ecu" on miata.net or google it. Wont do anything on a stardard engine except raise the rev limit but i need to stop the fuel cutting off at 6900 as its now able to produce power up to 7600.

1.6 are different crystal wise but apparently it works on them too.

thanks il take a look ...
if you get a port polish and a lot skimmed off the head as well as raise your
rev limit youl make good use of the extra revs.
might just do this.
port polish in the future too.
thanks

Its a BP5A from a mk2 , wanted solid followers and its good to 7500 but have a few other goodies bolted on too so need the revs to benifit.
