You could order the cables and fit. Its easy enough once you've the mechanism out of the door.

Hi Steve,

That was going to be my next move although the price of a pair of cables new would nearly buy
a good used complete assembly.
I PM'd Robert but I haven't heard back from him.
As luck would have it I have sourced a pair of complete assemblies in the UK so that should sort
me out.
Just thinking, I have had window probs with all three MX5's that I have owned and recently replaced
the girlfriend's passenger assembly in her's. What a crap design !

Mark.

hi 93 mk1 try some silicone grease on the door rubbers it wont damage the rubber
from maplin and before you put in the replacement motors and cables spray some white grease from halfords
onto the cables this might help

Hi cseaj,

Thanks for the advice. That's what I do to all my window mechanism - silicone rubber reviver on the rubbers.
Then I was the metal parts with thinners and regrease them with white grease. I had done my driver's side
about 6 months ago but it burst on me last week !
I find once they are done they are good for another 12 months.....it's one of those jobs to be done every year I
reckon.
