Brake Pad Clips

Postby Paschal » Sat, 07 Apr 2012 5:34 +0000

Fitted the new brake discs and pads today. However, I still have an annoying squeak/rubbing noise from the passenger front. I think the pads may be missing some springs/clips. The little clip at the bottom of the leading pad is not there (there is one on the drivers side), so this may have something to do with my squeak. Also there are no anti-rattle springs on any of the wheels, but this is probably not a major issue. Could the missing clip be causing my squeak? Would anyone have a spare one lying around?

I am back in with this one. Thanks to Sean who rooted out some clips, unfortunately, not the one I was looking for. The clip/spring I need (I think its called an anti squeal) is marked C in the attached picture. It attaches directly to the bottom of the leading pad. If anyone has one it would be much appreciated. There is only one on each side on the front

Not sure if this is an exact picture of MX5 pads, but you get the idea of what I am looking for

Thanks

hi pascal,we would have those springs if you still need them. They are designed to reduce the movement of the pad in the caliper when you put on the brakes ,otherwise they tend to rotate slightly with the disc ie say 2/3 mm movement .Robert.
