mk 1 parts wanted

My impoverished student son has decided to move his C2 GTS on and is taking in part exchange a '92 mk1 1.6. A lot of work has been done to the car (I have no doubt he will be posting here very soon) but he is looking for a set of second hand shocks in reasonable condition and a rain rail. Anyone?

I think I will be dusting down the workshop manual.

i have 4 shocks here.
1 needs a bottom mount bushing but that can be taken from 1 of the old shocks.

Is the rain rail missing or just damaged? If damaged it can be repaired with a good dose of duct tape.

where in cork city are you based.. i might have two front shocks you can have them.. and springs but no top mounts..

Unfortunately the sale of the 5 that my son has been chasing has fallen through. The guy just couldn't part with the car after all the work he had done to it so he has decided to keep it. Fully understandable. My thanks to shaneh, leamyj, Rhysmate and autocheck for replying with advice and parts. The quest continues and his C2 VTS is still up on donedeal, so watch this space, there will be a second MX5 on the Cahill household soon!
