Well lads and lassies... it looks like I'm in the market for an engine.
Check out the 'might be a runner' post in 'runs and tech-days' - there's a project in the planning stages - and my buddies here seem hopeful they can save my little red.
All help and advice ENORMOUSLY gratefully accepted.

There is a supplier in the UK that imports Mx5 engines from Japan and then refurbishes them, fully tested and leak down tested etc. A bit of a wallet burner at £500 sterling though.

I'm currently rebuilding & porting another engine here in Cork but when I install it I'll be pulling my own cars heart out

It's currently Turbo'd and it's been running like that for nearly 10 years without any problems so I may be in a position to give you a good strong donor heart cheap.

(but I think the lads will sort out your own engine no probs  )

Just pulled this 1.6 out of my donor car. It's from an auto but put your own bits on the block and you'll be fine. Would be able to deliver to Galway stripped and ready to install. Wouldn't be looking for much but need to cover costs.

Hi guys... thanks so much for all the responses.

My engine's a 1.6 - but looking at all you've got going on, I'm excited, dazzle and totally bemused.

Need 'the lads' in on this.... *shouts* hey, lads, lads ?

Just make sure you get a 'Guarantee' that the engine is perfect and will last 6 to 12 months before you buy it !
