Front grill template.

I have a 1996, 1800cc.
I am fabricating a front grill from a sheet of stainless steel mesh.
Wondering if anyone has a grill (off their car) and could sketch it onto light car or cardboard so I would have the correct template to work with?

You can just go and buy a grill but there's a certain satisfaction (and pride)with making things yourself.

Can anyone help?

Could be tricky given the number of variations in bodywork... can you not outline your own opening and use it as a template?

Thought all Mark 1, would have the same front grill size and shape?
I can mess about with cardboard templates until I create a shape that would be suitable.
But a template from an existing grill would help a lot.
I would make one from stiff cardboard first before cutting stainless sheet to insure correct fit.
If anyone has a grill it can be outlined on light paper, even if it's not 100% correct size I can modify.
A template would be a good starting point for the project anyway.
Happy motoring guys.

Cheers lads - I've had a set of blue foglights in the boot since Xmas - got a quote of €350 to have them fitted, so needless to say decided to see if I could get a cheaper option, the instructions here look like a good starting point.
