Mark 1 wanted

Hi everyone. I love the site and the fact that you run an owners "club" for yourselves and provide so much information for someone looking to get themselves an mx-5. I fell in love with these at a stunt day down in Arklow and I would love to get one to run as a second car. So I am looking for a Mark 1 mx-5, preferably '89 to '91 but any early car would be great, hopefully with no rust. If anyone can help me out, I would be very happy.
Many thanks

1989 cars will be as rare as hell. Even a 1990 model would be difficult enough to find at the this stage. Possible but difficult ! If you want pretty decent Mk1 then I would consider all years to 96/97. Personally, I like the '94 and earlier cars myself for interior reasons.

Thanks for the advice and thank you for the welcome Steve.
On another note, do you know how I would apply for membership to the mx5 owners club> And is there any way of changing my user name? I have never posted to a forum in my life, as should be quite obvious to everyone. This is the first time I have thought I'd want to join one.
Many thanks

Welcome to the forum. You could always consider buying an older car with issue's and get it restored to a good standard. Then you know you have a good early car and in the long run an investment. The mk1's are starting to grow in value.

Sure, send an email to info@mx5ireland.com with the username you'd prefer and I'll change it.

Hi and welcome, I know it’s a mk1 you’re interested in but if you can’t find one at a reasonable price there’s a 98 mk2 on carzone for €1500 asking price, looks like it needs work but it comes with a hardtop which itself is worth about €400, not my car or anything but as the saying goes “ I saw this and thought of you “
