Haven't seen the spec, but judging by the type of cable, this ought to be a small-amp trickle charger perfect for maintaining the gel battery in an MX5. The price is pretty good. I have something similar (Optimate) that I leave plugged into my '5 for months on end when it's parked up. It keeps the battery in good condition without overcharging, etc

Ah... good, but not ideal then.

0.6A top 0.8A would be best.

I used this one below on an acid battery. I assume it'd work with these gel ones but would need to check. I use my 5 whole year round so won't have a chance to check though.

I was talking to a serious man the last day that I take very seriously, and he warned me highly about cheap trickle chargers. This is the one we sell in or Horsey/Fishing shop:

No it is for a marine battery but he reckons a lot of the cheaper ones damage the batteries. Look at the price I have to sell my one, over a hundred euro and thats only a small margin!!

the second charger you listed Frank is one we use with a piece of Horse gear here. The kit costs €3200 so I know they wouldnt put a crap charger in with it. I find that one very good.
