I do quite a bit off watersports... ie sailin and surfin... I've been getting a lot of stick since I got my MX as to where I was going to put my longboard in my little car... Now I am luck that I still have a van for this job so I'm happy enough!

But on my 1st big trip since I got the car, expecting a LOT of stick I spotted this on the 1st day... Still got a BIT of stick but it easied the pain..

Would be careful that the weight doesnt stretch the roof fabric and cause it to sag and result in leaks - have seen a guy in Skerries on a number of occassions with a mg convertible (I think) with a bike rack on the back of his car and with a sea kayak strapped to the bike rack - must try and get a photo the next time I sea him as considering purchasing a kayak myself

Hi Sablk,

Just wanted to know where you sail & or surf, I do a lot of sailing myself & still dabble at windsurfing occasionally (used to be a fanatic)

Cheers,

Pete

Hi Pete, I do most of my sailing out of Courtown in north wexford. Surf all over Ireland.

I don't plan on carrying the board on the roof at anystage.. cant see it been good for the roof at all.. Have a van to carry the board and temp acom. Might try catch a local wave on a sunny day with the board sticking out with the roof down..
