I'm in Dublin a couple more days before a 2wk road trip on the twisty Irish back roads.

I don't have a confirmed schedule of activities for that day so haven't prepaid tickets unfortunately, but still hope to get there.

Today in Monkstown, I spotted an Evo Gold 98 NB (aka MkII) in someone's property. Late this afternoon, spotted a dark (blue?) NC (MkIII) driving northbound into Dublin, from the southside, just south of the embassies area.

I still hope to meet the owner of the black NA (MkI) sitting at Mick C's car repair place, while it awaits its engine install. This is the one with silver style bar and altezza tail lights. I'm just around the corner from there, so keen to meet you.

I'm off to Hertz to collect a rental on Thursday. I don't know if I will get a VW Golf 'or similar'. Hopefully the VW and not a Hyundai!

Yesterday we drove with a mate up to Sally Gap, Enniskerry (Poppies is v. good!) and it was great.

Red '90 Monkstown Rd Garage. Someone who works there?
Black NC (aka Mk3) hardtop in someone's front yard on Monkstown Rd (behind a stone wall so only just spotted on our walk!)
Silver NC (first gen) opposite Dunlaoghaire shopping centre Saturday morning

Plus our local mechanic at Blackrock opposite the Butler's Kitchen still seems to have the black NA with altezza lights and style bar.

We're in the Blackrock/Monkstown/Dunlaoghaire area another week. Time enough to meet anyone still in Dublin, for a drink or to meet up elsewhere?

Departing from DUB tomorrow week, for four nights in Porto, Portugal.

Funnily enough after collecting the hire car I did find a few MX5s.

Even spotted a Porsche Boxster S on Gumtree Dublin under $10K, which would likely more than double (or more) in Australia. However it was ex-UK and it might be like the rusty UK MX5s stories!

Who is this fellow who owns the black '95 MX5 in/near Blackrock?

This morning I spotted him driving out of Mick's garage (Rockford?) and he's pretty big, got a shaved head and really drives this car. Bright light blue jumper.

I think he turned left off Newtownpark Ave so may be a local.

Hope the car's running great. It seemed to be getting a good workout.

If a pedestrian waves to you while you drive past, it will probably be me!

That's it from me, I think. I did see a nice turquoise BMW 320cd (with M option wheels etc) at Alan Dorgan and I'd be keen on something like that if I was doing some more big road trips in Ireland.

Hi John, we just left Ireland last night, but I did see an interesting red '94 NA hardtop with a roll bar visible under the top.
Spotted coming off the M50 near the roundabout for Leopardstown.

The dark blue NC with hardtop still lives on Monkstown Rd and I did see the odd one around there, along with some interesting 1970s cars like the local TR6 and the silver Karmann Ghia. Sadly I mostly spotted the cars around this area rather than on the interesting roads, like Wicklow, where they might have more fun.
