The uk also provide a free MOT (NCT) check service - giving mileage, details of date passed, any advisories, and in the case of a failure all details provided (including any reasons for failure that are considered dangerous. I think that would be a great service that surely couldn't be hard to arrange, here too.

Ya I found that, a uk government service which helps keep the motor trade in check. Could you imagine the uproar there’d be here if our government tried something similar, privacy campaigners etc also there’d be no money in it for them so no commitment
