From Catalonia (Spain) to Ireland in MX-5

My wife has always dreamed traveling to Ireland, and I've always dreamed to do it with my MX-5... I hope to made true our dream on summer 2012, yes, I know that we've plenty of time to plan our trip, but I'm a farsighted man.

What's the most convenient way to arrive to Ireland by car from Barcelona?

Two weeks would be enought -including the travel- to visit Ireland?

Thank you in advance.

To get here you'll need to drive to Cherbourg or Roscoff (12hrs from Barcelona) then take an Irishferries ship to Rosslare in Co.Wexford (overnight trip). If you time it right, you'll probably need close to 4 or 5 days for travelling over and back.

We are in Catalonia. Gose is in the Barcelona Province and I'm in the Girona Province. Blanes is in the Girona Province near the border between the Barcelona Province and Girona Province. Montmeló (the Circuït de Catalunya is in Montmeló) is the Barcelona Province.

Thank you for the info!

I alrealdy knew there is a ferry from Roscoff to Ireland, but I didn't know there is also a ferry from Cherbourg. I'll investigate.
What ferry are you traveling next May?

See you in Ireland next year!

I live in the area near to the F1 track, also, Xpuerto lives not too far from your hotel. Some of our friends are living in this area. As I said in other post, it would be nice to organize a meeting, and to help you if we can.

See you soon!

I drove my 1992 Mk1 from N. I. to Alicante 3 years ago, the car lives there now. The route was Larne, Birmingham, Plymouth, Santander to Alicante. Driving round the ring road at Madrid was a real experience ! We drove most of the way with the roof down and would do it again tomorrow. If anyone is near Andorra, there is a motor museum there which is well worth a visit, we where there 6 weeks ago.
Ron.

Just did technical check, detailed and waxed (with the luxorious Swiss Wax) 8) so sad you can't see how it shines now, because I'm sure in 10 days it will be quite dirty.

I'll be out from tomorrow monday to wednesday in a bussines travel, so I don't know if I'll have time and/or access to this forum until thursday.
