Customer air intake

Postby mx5ash » Sat, 18 Oct 2008 9:21 +0000

Since i installed the link i no longer need the afm so Dave made up this for me. Shortens the intake pipe by a huge amount so should in theory give better throttle response. Have a little more fitting to do but i reckon it looks pretty sweet and sounds good.
What do you reckon

He also shot blasted a spare cam cover i had.

Looks better than new. Going to try getting it clear coated to try and keep the finish on it.

Nice Ashley. I must get me one of those Daves.

Would the air intake not be in rather a warm spot now though? Right behind the rad

yeah daves are real handy things to have.
May be a heat issue but not sure it will be hotter than on top of the exhaust manifold.
Also thinking of getting one of these. Which would solve the problem.

No discount then. The bugger. You seriously gonna get one? I think it sounds like a good idea to me.

yeah, but it might be next year, I've the injectors to get in yet and the car is coming up to cambelt/waterpump/heater hoses/diff fluid/clutch fluid change time.
I've just picked up a shiney new blingy bit of scaffolding to help get the crank bolt out ;-)

Since there is no saving on postage or anything then i guess we can just do our own thing anyways.
