Well, missed the tech day but the timing belt is done and i'm back on the road (many thanks again kamen for all your help).

Only one problem i seem to have lost roughly 1 psi in boost somewhere along the way. I have double checked the intake to make sure everything is tight and cant find any leaks. I dont want to go back to adjusting the wastegate until i have a logical reason for the dissapearance of the 1psi.

Anyone have any ideas or encountered a similar problem.

Probably a boost leak, hard to find them sometimes.
Get some soapy water (thick mix) and totally soak everything, then start the car up and take a look for bubbles when reving the car at the throttle body.
Also, there can be a leak at the exhaust side of things so dont forget to check that also but I would think that if you had the pipes off to work on the belt then the leak is somewhere on the pipes.....I had one which was damn hard to find as it was tiny until I saw the bubbles.

+ might only be leaking in boost too, check all your vac hoses too + boost gauge connections (incl the one on the back of the gauge).

along with a collar for the AFM so i can put back on my K&N, i dont like the thought of this small screws inside the greddy filter if one comes loose your knacked.

I dont plan any major power increases in the near future if i can maintain 6psi to redline i'll be happy for the mo.

Ah ger what are ya doing? I told ya i was making one of them and it definetely would not cost 230dollars even with a BOV attachment

Anyone else interested in Stainless steel boost pipe? Guaranteed irish!

Sorry Kamen, shinny bits and credit cards got the better of me on a rainy afternoon.

I have cancelled the order for the intake pipe,
Kamen, I just need the intake, no BOV, when can we get started?

You can use my system as the greddy prototype.

Geese, you don't make fuel rails too by any chance ? ;-)

Am going to convert mine to a dual feed setup, but if something shiny could be done.. ;-)

Found a place in the US that'll supply Alu Fuel rail stock in 1ft lengths, but it needs drilling + tapping ..

@Ger Unfortunetly i will be away from the 15th till the 5th of nov. So the boost pipe will not be complete before i go away.

If you want to compare the turbo setups and for me to take measurements of your turbo intall give me a call in the evenings and I'll meet ya on the N11 somewhere

@srigley I have been designing a dual input fuel rail for some time now, Are you gonna use the original injectors? and Intake manifold? If you are i can mill one out when I come back and see how it fits.

yeah, cool.

I'll be using larger injectors (RC Engineering 440cc) with the stock intake manifold. The injectors should be the same size in terms of dimensions tho..
T'would be great to get something with a larger rail bore + dual feed..

what sort of extra power will a dual feed manifold give ?

woud quad-feed not be better as theres 4 injectors ?

The stock fuel rail is fed from one end, so if you up your fuelling with larger injectors combined with either a programmable ECU (like the LINK) or an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (AFPR), the theory is that the last injector on the rail (cylinder number 4) could lack fuel pressure and go lean.. ending up in a melted/holey piston or burnt valves (or worse).

Feeding from both ends and/or increasing the bore of the rail should avoid this.
Altho.. the more I'm reading about the melting piston problem, the more I'm being convinced that a coolant reroute might be a better idea to solve/avoid the issue... hmmm..

Quad feed? Our diesel is ;-)
