I am going to order an intercooler this week, found a good price on a bar and plate type. They come in three sizes but i'm not sure which one to get.

small

medium

or large

Any thoughts?

Usually the bigger the better, but it depends on what your aiming for.

Bought this one.

its 6.5cm thick.

engine stuff

Greddy a 6psi
Bipes settings base timing 18 pull to 8 under boost.

O2 clamp see here

FM Heat shield

K&N

also

8 way AGX's, some polys, Vented discs, green stuff, hard dog twin hoop roll bar.

Plus the usual shite, good diff and gearbox oils etc
Cant afford to do much else at the mo.

I will be happy if i can set up the intercooler, do something with a cat back exhaust and maybe put in some 1.8 injectors, then turn up the boost a little maybe 8psi.

Geese if your reading this i will need to talk to you about piping, i'll give you a buzz when rh IC arrives

That looks good!

Re piping.. Geese.. do you supply?

I supply all things steel . See below for a bad Phone picture or my boost pipe.

I can also make Heat shields, with engraving, oil breather catch tanks, Sump guards, strut braces etc.

Custom made intake pipes, boost and induction pipes from steel or aluminum
I've also been known to make the odd Cat bypass pipe and full exhausts.

the plan is to remove the AC in the morning.

I bought a belt in mx5 parts for PS and no AC, do i need anything else?

Steve i seem to remember you mentioning something about a shorter bolt.

Mid week figure out how to mount the IC.
Next week end finish the harddog install and make IC mounts and fit.

Following week sort out IC pipe work.

I'll do a write up in the IC install.

Geese do you have prices on stainless tube?

The IC outlets are 57mm or 2/14 inch. Not sure what the throttle body is, 3 inch maybe?

Any help with this more than welcome.

Have you had the AC system drained ? You don't want to be breathing that stuff and it's illegal to vent it into the air.

You will need a bit of tube to go where you will take out the AC box 'thing' which is under the glove compartment.....just follow the pipes that go in throught the firewall.

I just gutted the box in mine and put it back in after plugging the holes that the AC use. More unwanted metal in that box thing.

Yeah, one of the aircon compressor bracket bolts needs to go back into the block to avoid an oil leak (think its one of the bottom ones.. ). You'll prob know which one when you see it..

OMG.... The 'HOFF' is in the house

From what I remember when I did mine and I did a search on MiataTurbo back then about it as well, that one bolt isn't actually needed to be put back in at all. It's not near a gasket and is not connected to the main engine re - oil or coolant.
No oil will come out of the bolt hole later on, it hasn't happened to me for the last what.... 4 or 5 years being Turbo'd ?
But by all means put it in if it makes you feel safer.
