Im thinking on putting together a turbo setup & runnig low boost until i get used to the power & build up from there. I have a good idea of the parts required with the exception of ECU's. What are people running, what would they recommend & where are thye getting their cars tuned. My thinking at the moment is I had better get an ECU that someone in Ireland has expirence in tuning rather than buying somthing that is recommended on the US sites & struggling to get it tuned.
Thanks
John

Myself, Steve frank and I think Fergus all run link ecu's so there is a big of knowledge around these. Thi k most of us would be tuning them ourselves though rather than getting the cars mapped by a professional. Lot of people use mega squirt and tune them selves and there's a wealth of knowledge on these over on mx5nutz in uk.
Either way plenty of reading up on them and DIY tuning is possible.

I'm running a megasquirt 2. If you buy a custom build by reverant on mx5nutz you will have minimum problems. He is very highly recommended for good reasons. After install (very easy) all you will need to do is autotune the fuel map from the base map he provides you and sync the timing. He provides the best support you could ask for. I'm very happy with mine.

+1 on megasquirt. Joe Power in Dublin can map them on his dyno. he got 236bhp out of a drift mx5 a while back a 1600cc..and hes more than willing to help over the phone

Don't forget that reverant's has custom firmware, so it's not possible to upgrade to MS3 or install default MS2Extra firmware.
