Had a bit of an oil leak in the boxster, found it fairly handy
only a breather tube cracked.
I got a bit carried away taking bits off and i ended up with the gearbox out.
few more bolts and i'll have the engine out.
only took two of us 2 hours and box of tools from Aldi!!!

I did, you need it to take the clips off the hoses.
I could and did use a pliers but it's diffcult to hold the tool
and the 2 pipes at once

It being an english car has a lot of rusty clips and bits.
So i decided to change them all for nice new ones.
Also the engine is very oily after the the leak so i need to clean it up
And it looks like the RMS may be on it's way out.
I'll have a proper look at the clutch to night and change if necessary
there also a few bushing and bits i want to change.
I've a bit of a list

There is stuff we use on the boats called Jenolite. Brush off loose rust and paint it on. Let it dry and you can paint over it. Brilliant tack. Not sure where you can get it here as its a stores item for us.

Thanks for that i'll keep an eye out for it.
It's mostly just clips that are rusty, most of the bits are alloy underneath
by the look of it.
It's something to clean the oil off the engine i need.
Any suggestions?

There's another thread here somewhere that has details of upcoming specials this week in your local Lidl, including spray-on engine cleaner. Seeing it's from a German discounter and your car is from that neck of the woods, I don't imagine it would do your machine any harm

am looking for something to do the same..
I've read good reports about "Simple Green", just found a supplier locally recently. Will try the boat shop place in Clarinbridge for Marineclean tomorrow though.
