As you can see it's gotten a few mods done, mainly cooling mods for piece of mind. It is a massive IC though..

Any Q's welcome.

Sold it back in August, and bought a slammed mk2 on Grid V's. Wanted something different, and not a petrol drinker. :)
But I will be back in an rx7 someday..

Looked at these before. Any advice if I was to look at one? Where to look for rust and what other problems to look out for. Also I've heard very mixed reports on the rotary engine, what are they like for reliability and I can imagine fuel consumption isn't great but hey, smiles before miles :D

Ye have to look after them lad very well
Suspension gearbox & diffs are bullit proof
Check
Oil,water etc daily
They take mineral oil aswell no synthetic stuff
Engine is the tricky part if not looked after ye need deep pockets if things go wrong
Rebuilds can cost 1500€ + depends what go s wrong
Don't believe all the stories they only last such and such a miliage it all depends how well there looked after
I do work on a few rx8 and rx7s
I've seen an rx8 with 250000klms without a rebuild in the main dealers

Never had an issue with rust, and never really heard about anyone having a bother with it.
Studying the engine a bit will help before committing. Needs a little bit more attention than a piston, but it's not as un-reliable as most people will tell you. Although saying that, they are not suppose to be too difficult to rebuild in comparison to a piston engine, but a decent rebuild kit alone is over a grand.
There are loads of guides out there on that side of things, though.
Fuel consumption isn't great, and it's partly what drove me to sell it. I needed something that needs to be driven daily. But it was a great car, and I enjoyed it immensely. I'll be back in one some day no doubt.

Thanks for the feedback, good to hear advice from people who actually owned one instead of just going on what other people say.
